Qualities of Perfection

Was studying Srimadhbhaaghavatam and in the Canto 1, Chapter 12, text 22 the qualities of Maharaja Parikshit are foretold and here it is the detailed summary. How beautifully the qualities are described.

This child will be as strong as a lion, and as worthy a shelter as the Himalayan mountains. He will be forbearing like the earth, and as tolerant as his parents.

Detailed explanation:
One is compared to the lion when one is very strong in chasing an enemy.

One should be a lamb at home and a lion in the chase. The lion never fails in the chase of an animal; similarly, the head of the state should never fail in chasing an enemy. The Himalayan mountains are famous for all richness. There are innumerable caves to live in, numberless trees of good fruits to eat, good springs to drink water from and profuse drugs and minerals to cure diseases. Any man who is not materially prosperous can take shelter of these great mountains, and he will be provided with everything required.

Both the materialist and the spiritualist can take advantage of the great shelter of the Himalayas. On the surface of the earth there are so many disturbances caused by the inhabitants. In the modern age the people have begun to detonate atomic weapons on the surface of the earth, and still the earth is forbearing to the inhabitants, like a mother excuses a little child. Similarly, parents are always tolerant to children for all sorts of mischievous acts. An ideal king may be possessed of all these good qualities,and the child Parikshit is foretold to have all these qualities in perfection.

Do you dare to dream?

Since our childhood we all know how to dream. Asleep and awake. Thanks to the power of our imagination we believe we are capable of achieving anything we can dream of. However, as we grow older we lose this wonderful ability we’ll later need to be creative, to innovate, to change our lives and to transform our organizations. We invite you to dare to dream again, to challenge your comfort zone, and to enjoy the pleasure of turning your dreams into reality.
Do you dare to dream?

Astitva : The Fountainhead for a human’s innovation, efforts and hope.

Astitva (Devnagari: अस्तित्व, meaning existence, identity)

Astitva : The Fountainhead for a human’s innovation, efforts and hope.

It’s an honor and grace being referred as someone’s Daughter/Son, Sister/Brother, Wife/Husband, Mother/Papa, Aunt/ Uncle, Friend.

However, there is something beyound all these , an identity of your own self immaterial of the above tags. Humans who manage to rise above these tags while maintaining the tags and manage to build their identity are a tough brand of people with tons of self esteem. They have an inner fire to do something, eager to show to the world that they are something. And the world is better and innovative because of these tough bums.

While the ones not bothered about identity mock these tough bums for their futile hard work and efforts, these tough bums continue their journey of Astitva. Because, Astitva is just not about the money you earn, the degrees you have, the character and the values you adhere; the way you respond and help the society;
It is something a blend of all the above. It is a journey of lifetime.

And this journey is so interesting, after building an identity of life time, after a good level we realise, this so called “Astitva”,we built (rather we thought we built by ourselves) is nothing but just act and grace of God and we are nothing. The sense of detachment from the “Identity” we built. And then comes the self actualization state, we tend to payback all that we earned (knowledge, wealth) to the society.
But the beauty of this Astitva at this state is though you give away everything, you have everything.

Driving the point home, what is the fodder for this Astitva? Self-esteem + Hope + Dreams + Guts to move out of comfort zone + Strongwill to undergo hardships.

Next time, you see a person who is making and effort to find his or her Astitva (identity), don’t discourage that person, if you can encourage it is good, however don’t kill or mock their thoughts and energy.

Have a lovely day ahead.

Smile Of Strangers

Image courtesy: Google
Was having tea at my favorite tea shop. Suddenly a poor little girl came to me, she was very little, so I was about to give her money. She said “Please don’t give me money, buy me something to eat, I don’t want money”.
So, I took her to near by shop, bought a Dosa for her and then I left for my long walk.
After an hour an so in some other street, she saw me and came to me and said to me “Thank you Didi, Dosa is very tasty”.

Somehow, that smile and happiness of this stranger girl made me feel happy. May be I will meet her or will not meet her again.

There are so many known kids to whom I buy so many things but there is no sense of happiness. They take it for granted. They are like, what are you bringing next or why didn’t you bring better thing now.

Somehow, this incident made me think about the need and idea to share food/ books/ clothes to unknown poor kids often than to the known rich kids. Rich kids however have their parents to take care of their rich needs

Runway To Dreams

#FlightsOfDreams #RunwayToDreams

Yesterday I was walking in our colony happily lost in my thoughts like a happy Jumbo near a river in a jungle in monsoon …I wasn’t thinking of any serious topics of life…but I was seriously thinking which all cookies I need to buy and was humming this brand new favorite song of mine “Closer ” of Chainsmoker.

Suddenly …thadha….a maruthi van stopped beside me….the typical kidnap vehicle in India….for couple of seconds thought it was a random vehicle….I continued my happy jumbo walk…again that Maruthi van followed and stopped right beside me. I was like…”Who the hell is planning to Kidnap me, I ain’t in a mood to be kidnapped, I need to buy this salt and sweet cookies”.

Then…the guy near the window said , “Driver Uncle is calling you”. I looked with suspicion in side the van.

In the van, the driver said to me smiling “Namaste Madam, How are you. It is really really honor and pleasure meeting you after several years”.
He is Nagesh Bhai. 6/7 years back, i used to go in his auto daily to my office. He is one of the auto drivers who has detailed understanding, interest in Indian politics, World politics. Everyday during our travel, we used to discuss all the issues in a good detail.

He has 2 daughters and then they used to be in 6 th and 4th standards. One day he requested me to spend a weekend with his daughters for few hours and tell them about importance of dreams, goals, how to aspire, different career paths, in importance of English Grammar and how to study well.

This was kind of interesting assignment for me.So I immediately accepted. One Saturday, both the daughters came home in the best of their dresses neaty dressed. They were staring at our home as if they were in some magical house…they were spellbound seeing our library.
As I am talkative, and had teaching experience it wasn’t hectic deal for me to make them talk too. Elder one told…”I don’t know what I want to be oncexi grow up…we are poor….second one said “I want to be a teacher”.
I slowly explained them…on having a dream, different options of professions, what to study, how to study….and gifted them some books of Swami Vivekananda and the letters to Indira by Jawaharlal Nehru.

And next few days Nagesh Bhai was so happy and used to say how his daughters felt good spending time with me.

After few months, Nagesh bhai moved to different parts of city, I moved to a different company where I had cab facility. So we didn’t meet afterwards.

After these many years, I see him yesterday. Now he bought a van and he takes school children in his van.

So the first question I asked him is “Bhai! How are you, what are your daughters doing”.
He said with cheerful smile ” Mam! My elder daughter just wrote medicine entrance, my second daughter is in 10 th standard”.

I felt immensely happy as if my own nieces are performing well. It isn’t a small deal that, the daughters of a very very normal driver are studying that well and aspiring great things to do.

This entire episode, just made me think…yeah..Destiny is not something we just should depend on God….but we should trust in Gods plans for us and pave our runyways to dreams from childhood with proper blend of hard work.

Have a blessed week ahead .

Enthusiasm for Life

Sometimes this suspense of what I will be doing in my 80th year kills me.

Will I be this crazy…

Will I be flirting with the neighborhood old fellows

Will I travel to different places then too

Will I bug all in the World with my writings

Will I become wiser at least by then and talk less….

Will I be able to wear and flaunt my colorful silk sarees and dresses then too…

Will I be able to learn and understand emerging technologies, current affairs from my kiddo and young friends..

How interesting would I be as a 80 year oldie … don’t panic, I just wrote this thoughts not because I lost some nuts and bolts of my mind.

I wrote this to ponder and share some thoughts about “Enthusiasm for Life”.

I don’t care how many years I live or when I die, but one thing I wouldn’t let anything steal away from me is “Enthusiasm for Life”.

Life is extremely tough, is extremely unpredictable, extremely beautiful and we never know when we die, we never know when our loved ones leave us.

All things are not in our control but somethings are in our control.

We do have full control on how we react, act and spend our current moment.

Howmuchever crazy our current moment is, we shouldn’t  miss sharing love, shouldn’t miss sharing our warmth, our positive energy to the World, the people around us and to our own ourself.
Because if we live in the moment, the next moment will be taken care itself…

We need to Live life with energy and enthusiasm…because we always have something or the other to be grateful about. We need to Stop postponing the celebration of present moment waiting for perfect moment.

Think about this topic of “Enthusiasm for Life”. Real enthusiasm, not faking happiness and faking enthusiasm 😀

Have a nice Saturday.

Loads of Love ❤ ❤ ❤

Laugh, and the world laughs with you;
Weep, and you weep alone;
For the sad old earth must borrow its mirth,
But has trouble enough of its own.
Sing, and the hills will answer;
Sigh, it is lost on the air;
The echoes bound to a joyful sound,
But shrink from voicing care.

Rejoice, and men will seek you;
Grieve, and they turn and go;
They want full measure of all your pleasure,
But they do not need your woe.
Be glad, and your friends are many;
Be sad, and you lose them all,
There are none to decline your nectared wine,
But alone you must drink life’s gall.

Feast, and your halls are crowded;
Fast, and the world goes by.
Succeed and give, and it helps you live,
But no man can help you die.
There is room in the halls of pleasure
For a large and lordly train,
But one by one we must all file on
Through the narrow aisles of pain.
