The “Final Analysis” Prayer….

The “Final Analysis” Prayer

People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies. Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you. Be honest and sincere anyway.

What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight. Create anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous. Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, will often be forgotten. Do good anyway.

Give the best you have, and it will never be enough. Give your best anyway.

In the final analysis, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.

Remembering Swami Vivekananda on his 150th Jayanthi

Only thought that comes to my mind when I think about my role model Swami Vivekananda is “Fearlessness”.

Here are some of the thoughts of Swami Vivekananda on Fearlessness.

What makes a man stand up and work? Strength. Strength is goodness; weakness is sin. If there is one word that you find coming out like a bomb from the Upanishads, bursting like a bombshell upon masses of ignorance, it is the word fearlessness. And the only religion that ought to be taught is the religion of fearlessness. Either in this world or in the world of religion, it is true that fear is the sure cause of degradation and sin. It is fear that brings evil. And what causes fear? Ignorance of our own nature.

Agneepath, Agneepath, Agneepath…

Agneepath Poem

Agneepath

 By Shri.Harivansh Rai Bachchan

Vriksh ho bhale khade,
Ho ghane, ho bade,
Ek patra chaa bhi,
Mang maat, mang maat, mang maat
Agneepath, Agneepath, Agneepath

Tu na thakega kabhi,
Tu na thamega kabhi,
Tu na mudega kabhi,
Kar shapath, kar shapath, kar shapath
Agneepath, Agneepath, Agneepath

Yeh maahan drishya hai,
Chal raha manushya hai,
Ashru, shwet, rakth se,
Lathpat, lathpat, lathpat
Agneepath, Agneepath, Agneepath

Translation of the poem in English

There may be huge shady trees all around

Don’t even ask for the shade of a single leaf

Walk on the Path of Fire, Walk on the Path of Fire

You will not stop, You will not turn, You will not halt

Take this oath, take this oath, take this oath

The Oath of Fire, the Oath of Fire, the Oath of Fire

This is a great situation,  Man Walks on;

Tears, Sweat and Blood They swathe Him, they swathe Him

Walk on the Path of Fire, Walk on the Path of Fire

Amitabh Bachchan recited Agneepath poem written by his father Shree Harivansh Rai Bachchan

Koshish Karne Walon Ki ….

Happy New Year to all of you 🙂 Like any other year, this year too on the 1st of Jan, I did spend some time to think about the past year and my plans for this new year. I know that everything in life does not go as per our plans, however I believe that a plan in hand always helps to deal the situations in better manner…May be I am a shameless optimist 😉

I want to learn so many  things this year. I want to learn carnatic instrumental music particularly Veena; I want to learn oil painting; I want to study books of Shri Viswanatha Satyanarayana garu with a proper understanding on the subject; I want to learn Statistics in a proper manner so that I can implement that learning in my day-to-day projects at work. I want to study books on History.

I want to be a better person. I want to understand my near and dear ones more,,, to deal with them in a better manner 🙂 , Last but not least, I want to talk less, write less this year 😉

If the world does not end  in December 2012 and if I am still alive on Jan 1st 2013 then I will definitely revisit this blog post of mine and check how many resolutions of mine did I really achieve. Wish me good luck 🙂

Got some time to read some good old Hindi poems and thought of sharing the below poem of Shri Harivansh Rai Bachchan with all of you on new year day. Do check this inspirational poem. Wishing all of you good luck in this new year 🙂

Translation to above poem : You cannot take your boat across the sea If you are afraid of the waves, The one who tries Never fails. The tiny ant carries a small grain in its mouth, Climbs up on the wall, slips and falls a hundred times, The determination in the mind fills your body with courage, Then climbing up and falling down does not hurt, Ultimately, its (the ant’s) efforts do not go waste, The one who tries Never fails. The diver dives into the water of the sea, He returns empty handed a number of times, Not easy it is to find a pearl in the deep waters, But this in turn doubles his enthusiasm, His hands are not empty every time, The one who tries Never fails. Failure is a challenge, accept it, Recognise your shortcomings, rectify them. Till you are successful, shun rest and sleep, Never run away from the battlefield of hard work, You cannot get praise without working for it, The one who tries Never fails(Courtesy:http://forums.sulekha.com/forums/coffeehouse/lehron-se-darkar-nauka-par-nahin-hoti-w-translation-799525.htm)
