Oh…Why all this mess about Anna Hazare???

Yeah..the one million dollar question is “What is next? Are the people supporting Anna Hazare because of some mass hysteria? Do these people stay for longer in support of Anna? Why such an OVER Action and Overreaction ONLY to Anna..were’nt there better leaders in all these years???”

These are some of the questions bugging so many of us these days…..

1) Got to watch a good discussion on CNN IBN, where Psephologist Prof.Yogendra Yadav answered the above questions in a simple manner by saying “If 100 people come out today to support Anna. 80 people will go back to their houses in a normal manner. 20 people will really start thinking about this issue in a simple manner and in those 20 …..a One person will become a leader. Yogendra adds…by saying…if one person out of those hundred can help them in dealing their issues..then this agitation of Anna is successful 🙂

2) My observations on this huge support to Anna. Ordinary people are just tired about the aberrations in Governance…they did not bother much all these years as they were trying to ADJUST their lives according to the aberrations in Governance….they did not know how to express, whom to rely to express their concerns all these years…in this interesting time….Ordinary people(Aaam Aadmi) found a Super Hero in Anna!!! So even ordinary people are daring to come out and express their concerns and their views Now…Anna is one of the best available options for Aaam Aadmi….Anna is the Brand Ambassodor for Hope in India at this point of time.

3) Yeah…there are several concerns on how is the team Anna going to proceed further, is there are solid implementation plan with them about their ideas. Yeah, there is a need for organized and structured way of suggestions from Team Anna.  However, Team Anna succeeded in awakening the spirit of Hope and the spirit of responsibility among the common citizens that with PEACEFUL and CIVILIZED Methods. I am NOT expecting a complete filmy types of change in the system, because I respect the system, I respect the Laws of the country and the Government. However, I expect the tweaking in the laws such as Lokpal bill which strengthen our democracy !!! Afterall,  “Democracy is the government of the  people, by the people, for the people” and we the people are ALSO responsible for the aberration such as corruption. Its time WE people too realize the importance of our roles and responsibilities as responsible citizens of India.

However there is point to be noted here…Support to Anna does not mean people are AGAINST the Laws and Governance. All these agitations show the eagerness of ordinary people of India to correct the aberrations in the Governance and system. Expressing the difference of opinions boldly being part of the system is a good sign of Progress and Progressive System and Nation 🙂 I am sure in the coming days Team Anna and Government are going to discuss peacefully and together help in strengthening the democracy in India.

For the first time in life, participated in a Support March…..participated in Anna Hazare Support March outside our office. Folks from all the companies in the premises came out and voiced out their opinions in Support of Anna Hazare. It was a serene feeling. India is a wonderful democratic nation…we have Right to express our views in a peaceful manner.

I think new song of AR Rahman is apt to quote in this context, because Hum Mein Hai Hero 🙂

Dil dheere dhadke hai aaj
Hone ko hai aaghaaz
Safar pe Chalne ka badhne
Itna hai Hausla
Mitna faasla
Manzil ne mil hi jaana hai
O.. Khwabon se aage jaana hai

Humi se toh ummeedein hain
Humi se
toh dilasa hai
Hami pe hain nigaahe bhi
Hami pe to Bharosa hai

mein hai hero
Hum Mein hai Hero

Dil se kaho, hey, hai Hum Mein
Hai Hero
Milke kaho, hey, hai Hum Mein Hai Hero

mein hai hero

Hum mein hai hero…

The heart beats slowly
A new beginning is going to be there,
of starting the journey, of
moving ahead.
There is so much morale (or, our morale/conscience
that the distance has to end,
the destination has to be
O.. (we) have to go beyond dreams..

From us only hopes are
From us only is the consolation there,
The eyes are on us
On us only is the trust..

There is a hero within us,
There is
a hero within us..

Say with heart, hey, there is a hero within
Say it together, hey, there is a hero within us..

There is a hero
within us,
There is a hero within us…

Mary J. Blige – The Living Proof

It’s gonna be a long long journey
It’s gonna be enough hill climb
It’s gonna be though
It’s gonna be some lonely nights
But I am ready to carry on
I am so glad the worst is over
I can start living now
I feel like I can do anything
And finally I am not afraid to breath
Anything you said to me
And everything you do
You can’t deny the truth
Cause I am the living proof
So many thoughts fight
They just can’t make it through
But look at me
I am the living proof
Oh yes I am

Thinking about life been painful
Yes it was
Took a lot to learn how to smile
So now I am gonna talk to my people about the storm
Oh so glad the worst is over
I can start flying now
My best days are in front of me
I am almost there
Cause now I am free
Everything you say to me
And everything you do
You can’t deny the truth
Cause I am the living proof
So many those who fight
They just can’t make it through
But look at me
I am the living proof

I know where I am going
Cause I know where I have been
I am gonna feel starts that showing
I am gonna keep rolling
That’s the way that I will
Everything you say to me
And everything you do
You can’t deny the truth
Cause I am the living proof
So many those who fight
They just can’t make it through
But look at me
I am the living proof

Nothing about my life has been easy
But nothing is gonna keep me down
Cause I know a lot about today
And I know yesterday
So I am ready to carry on
Oh Lord

Happy Independence Day: India @65

“Ye desa megina, yendugalidina
ye pithha mekkina, yevvaredu raina
pogadarA,  ni talli bhoomi bharatini
nilupara, ni jAti nindu garvammu

Shri Rayaprolu Subba Rao

( English Translation of above Telugu Poem :

Whichever country you go to, wherever you set foot,

Whatever dais you ascend, whatever anyone says,

Praise your Mother Bharati,

Keep up your race’s whole dignity!)

It is amazing and wonderful celebrating Independence day. Tricolor everywhere!!! Tricolor in every nook and corner of the city.Tricolor in every paper, every news channel. Songs, news about the national leaders, patriotic songs, some programs about our soldiers …everything is amazing. However, this thought of being conscious about the real value of INDEPENDENCE only on a National Holiday like this is scary. We need not display and celebrate Independence day everyday, however  as the responsible citizens of this serene country India, we need to respect the independence we have and treasure the country we have. Driving the point home, our motto should not be celebrating this festival of Independence or Republic with pomp and gaiety our motto should be striving towards the improvement, development of the country and doing all the acts which uphold the dignity of the country India and its citizens.

I am blessed to be in this wonderful  largest democratic nation of the world.  Respecting the laws , leaders and the Governments of this country, I want to present here some of the issues, which bother me as a citizen of India.

1) Freedom From Corruption:

Our’s is a wonderful nation with ample natural, human resources. We are a developed nation. However, why is that we face this problem of Corruption in several levels of the society. Why is that we cannot have a corrupt free nation. Why should our hardwork payed in terms of taxes go into the pockets of some shameless, waste officers and so called politicians. If we have the capability to EARN we should have the capability to PROTECT , what we earn. To set everything right. We need to have strict laws. Let us support Shri Anna Hazare  in this aspect. He is advocating for a Bil, The Lok Pal Bill (The Citizen Ombudsman Bill), that will form an autonomous authority who will make politicians (ministers), beurocrats (IAS/IPS) accountable for their deeds. (Do check this post: Anna Hazare, Aam Aadmi Aur Woh !!!!)

2) Need To Save Disappearing Daughters Of India:

A report on NDTV says “Despite several policies to protect the girl child, their number below six years of age has fallen sharply.  According to the 2011 census data, in the last decade alone, the child sex ratio has dipped from 927 to 914 per 1000, the lowest since independence. Not just that, the total population of children in general has dipped as well by 5 million. Poor nutrition and healthcare, rising female foeticide and overall neglect care being pegged as the major reasons for this sharp decline. But, attitude, experts say, continues to be the biggest factor. “There is a bias against the girl child”

Is’nt this shameful? Is’nt a paradox. Ours is a nation ruled by Women in all the top positions. Ours is a nation which is well known for respecting the female gender. In such country we see this dangerous aspect of decrease in female population, we see this increasing trend of opting out the female gender. Is’nt this trend dangerous? Its time we seriously think about this and work on this. A nation or a home without females is as equivalent to a burial ground. There is no prosperity where there is no respect or existence of females. Do check this post of mine Throw Some Light On “Disappearing Daughters Of India” on this Republic Day

3) Honoring The Indian Farmer Who brings Food to us:

Do you know that India ranks second worldwide in farm output. Agriculture and allied sectors like forestry and logging accounted for 16.6% of the GDP in 2007, employed 52% of the total workforce and despite a steady decline of its share in the GDP, is still the largest economic sector and plays a significant role in the overall socio-economic development of India.

However, Issues related to farmers are always taken the back seat. Every politician leaves no chance in portraying himself or herself as the champion of the causes of the farmers. However, no one really cares about them when farmer needs actual help. Life of a farmer is so tough. He can be confident of the returns to the money of the crop only when it is actually sold in the market in the right price. Farmer needs to deal with several hardships related to weather such as rains, sunlight etc….extreme climatic conditions like drought or severe rains. We cannot control the climate.  Government should have flexible policies which help the Farmers. Because of several financial hardships the farmer suicides are increasing to alarming levels.  Farmers do not need any charity or any mercy in dealing their crisis. They need timely help wrt seeds, fertilizers and fair place to sell their goods with fair price where they get the minimum amount of their investment. This year, inspite of having favorable climatic conditions, inspite of having favorable amount of crops, Farmer is in danger because of unfavorable selling conditions. Vexed because of this farmers in some states like Andhra Pradesh have declared Crop Holiday. This is an alarming trend. Do check this post of mine Natha Marega Ya Nahin…

Am not a pessimist who mourns for everything, however I pray for a better and bright INDIA where we see people flourish in all the basic fields and where everyone leads a decent and respectable life with dignity. I am a firm believer of this KAIZEN philosophy. Life is all about continuous improvement and I want my country to improve continuously in all the aspects.

Jaya Hey Jaya Jaya Hey!!!

“Song Unsung” From Gitanjali of Rabindranath Tagore

The song that I came to sing remains unsung to this day.
I have spent my days in stringing and in unstringing my instrument.
The time has not come true, the words have not been rightly set;
only there is the agony of wishing in my heart.
The blossom has not opened; only the wind is sighing by.
I have not seen his face, nor have I listened to his voice;
only I have heard his gentle footsteps from the road before my house.
The livelong day has passed in spreading his seat on the floor;
but the lamp has not been lit and I cannot ask him into my house.
I live in the hope of meeting with him; but this meeting is not yet.

(Poem:”Song Unsung” From Gitanjali of Rabindranath Tagore)
