The Tide Rises, the Tide Falls

Life is an interesting thing. It does not stop for anyone of anything. If we let it go like a free flowing river our journey of life becomes peaceful, if we try to stop it or if we try to create disturbance in its flow by our nostalgia, by our own interruptions and interpretations, by our own inputs then there will be disturbance in the flow of the our life river’s journey. We, humans donot let it flow by its own course, we try to interrupt the journey by some or the other things…its not our mistake either, afterall we are thinking people 🙂 . Whatever happens…life moves on…the flow of the river LIFE does not stop until it reaches its destination Sea…..may be in humans ultimate destination is Death

Came across this lovely poem ” The tide rises, the tide falls” of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. It depicts the life of a human being in a wonderful manner. It describes wonderfully how life does not stop…and how life moves on 🙂 . Here is the lovely poem for all of you.

The tide rises, the tide falls,
The twilight darkens, the curlew calls;
Along the sea-sands damp and brown
The traveler hastens toward the town,
And the tide rises, the tide falls.

Darkness settles on roofs and walls,
But the sea, the sea in darkness calls;
The little waves, with their soft, white hands
Efface the footprints in the sands,
And the tide rises, the tide falls.

The morning breaks; the steeds in their stalls
Stamp and neigh, as the hostler calls;
The day returns, but nevermore
Returns the traveler to the shore.
And the tide rises, the tide falls
