Gurtu Pattava!! Pehchaan Kaun? Find out who am I? …..
Almost all of us might have been bugged with this question. Me being the Lady version of Ghajini… I find it tough to deal with these sort of situations. Yesterday I was entering my home…after a lazy, drowsy day at work and suddenly a elderly lady jumped on my face as soon as I entered my home and asked “Gurtu Pattu Nenavarino(Find out who am I)”. I was faking a decent smile at her. She persisted with the same question. Though I’m good at quizzing in my schools, colleges and even at facebook , yesterday I was in no mood to answer any quiz or solve any puzzle. I pretended as if I was making a serious attempt in recollecting her and finally succeed in telling a name and could understand that I was wrong. I saw her some ten years back for some half an hour , that too on the day of my exam results which was a disaster. My memory did not bother to remember her so it was tough to search for my mind for the data which was not present in it.
Other day, 6th class classmate of my mine sent a message in a social networking site and bugged me by sending several messages by saying “Pehchaan Kaun”. I could not seriously recollect her as we left that school and place in my 8th class itself and I could not be in touch with much of that classmates. With the help of my friend and a class mate I understood that this ‘Pehchaan Kaun’’s name is not the one mentioned in the social networking site and her name was different. Silly me unnecessarily blamed my memory for not being able to recollect a class mate of mine. This option….rather FACILITY of being able to change the name in the sites as when required add troubles to fellow people. Ofcourse found in a research that people change the names and find it Fun as it gives them opportunity to name themselves differently which they cannot do that frequently in real world. Poor me!! Doesn’t understand the beauty of changing the names. To add to our woes some change their names to some phrases like “I’m somebody”, “Nobody’s somebody”, “I hate life” and mind you these will not be some school or college goers they will be some working professionals …God bless their tastes and choices.
This Pehchaning Kaun on Phone is another lousy activity. Somedays back suddenly I got a call at 12 ‘O’ Clock in the night and she was asking me “Find out who am I” . First of all, taking a call in such mid night hours is like receiving a SOS telegram for me. Being unapologetic and un ashamed of her clever activity of ringing to me in such timings, she bugged me further…I reached a staged where I could not more continue that discussion. She then introduced her self as so and so and she wanted some help on PROJECT WORK. I could only say to her politely “We will discuss about this in the morning time”. I could get relief from this silly phone call only after crying like a 1 year kid who cries for milk.
Giving and receiving surprises is always fun. However, people should understand that giving surprises is not pleasure to the receiver all the times. People need to consider the timing of the surprises and they need to understand that the receivers will not be sitting idle, biting nails and waiting for the surprises as Life gives its own wonderful surprises .
We read, hear so many things about the value of time, importance of time and all. Still TIME is an elusive thing on which we have no control. We can only be responsible spectators of TIME. TIME is not just the hours, minutes and seconds its something beyond that. Though all of us come across same TIME , it treats each one of us in a different manner. Even for each person TIME is not same all the times. TIME alone makes a person HERO or ZERO. It gives lot of happy things which we ask, which we don’t ask, it gives lot of unexpected hardships for which we are unprepared for . Sometimes we don’t have solutions for those problems, we don’t know how to react to those problems, some times we don’t know to deal them. In such cases, we can only rely on TIME. It alone is the healer. So if you are having bad TIME just have patience..wait for your good TIME.
As we have no control on the TIME, we should understand that we cannot control it or change , we should only try to live it, accept it gracefully. May be this fear for time or love for time or respect for time makes people across the globe to appreciate it or welcome it in different manner. In some cultures and religions people consider TIME as a form of GOD. They try to please it by welcoming it in a grand manner. Though this welcoming goes overboard in some cases, its nice to appreciate the TIME immaterial of the things it leaves to us. We can only HOPE and PRAY for GOOD things from TIME to entire mankind. Every year end is just one more opportunity for each one of us to thank for the things we received and for looking forward with a HOPE for the year to come. Who knows the coming new year may make your life much more better with better people in your life and bring much more better achievements of yours.
So start singing……….
Ring out, wild bells, to the wild sky,
The flying cloud, the frosty light;
The year is dying in the night;
Ring out, wild bells, and let him die.
Ring out the old, ring in the new,
Ring, happy bells, across the snow:
The year is going, let him go;
Ring out the false, ring in the true.
Ring out the grief that saps the mind,
For those that here we see no more,
Ring out the feud of rich and poor,
Ring in redress to all mankind.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you.
Some movies are just meant for entertainment, some movies are meant for introspection, some movies are meant for ‘learning experience’. This movie -ROCKET SINGH-SALES MAN OF THE YEAR is a combination of above mentioned three traits.
Normally, I have this habit of taking notes religiously (like a journalist in a press conference ) in my class or meetings. I did not extend this habit to the entertainment section to save the mankind from my craziness for notes at least in those places. However, this movie got hell lot of stuff for folks like me to make mental notes about the film. Ranbir Kapoor is rocking as always , the script is wonderful and the direction is amazing. Right from the title this film got its own style…settings, characters in the film were so natural..we feel that all those people are one among us. Last but not least, this hero is not just a common person with minimal academic scores . He is not from a prestigious institute or he is not from a rich family. Then, what makes this film interesting??? Inspite of being normal person, the way he aspires to achieve things in life, the way he deals the situations in life with his zeal, common sense and last but not least his policy of doing things without losing moral values makes this film special. All these things are NOT conveyed in a boring, preachy manner, they are neatly embedded in the film in a humorous manner.
It would not be wise on my part to write the story of film in detail. I wish to mention some important learning points from this film. This film shows that:
- Poor performance in academics is NOT the measure of the CAREER consciousness of a person
- We should NEVER estimate a person based on his previous performance
- Every person can DREAM big and ACHIEVE their dreams by HARD WORK
- No Job is mean and everyone should utilize the opportunity given to them
- If life throws you lemons just make lemonade…make advantage of the situations you face in life
- No person is bad, Every person is good or bad based on his situations. Every person has dual mentality
- It is important to be ethical in which ever career you are into
- Sales is not just about NUMBERS but sales is about communication and more importantly sales is about SERVICE.
All the characters in the film have done a decent job and Ranbir Kapoor excelled as Rocket Singh. This film is truly inspirational for the youth of the country, in this point of time.
Dedicated to all my lovely brothers, cousins and esteemed friends who don’t bother to reply to my emails at least once in a blue moon INSPITE of reading them religiously. Special Dedication to My Big Brother Srini and Second Brother Krish.
I was taught in my 3rd standard about Living things and Non Living things. Living things are the things which will feel, which can sense and which RESPOND and RECIPROCATE. Examples of living things are humans, all the animals etc…On the other hand, non Living things are which cannot feel, which cannot sense and which CANNOT RESPOND & RECIPROCATE. Examples of non-living things are table, chair, wall, stone etc. However I don’t want to get into the controversy of living and non-living status of trees as J.C.Bose Dada has already taken care of that aspect. Being a studious kid in school days (thereafter things changed….that’s a different issue) I learnt this living and non-living concept so well and thought that the things in this entire universe can be categorized in to these 2 categories. However as I grew I understood that there is another category of things which feel, sense but DON’T RESPOND & RECIPROCATE inspite of having the ability to do so. Have been trying to find appropriate name for this category and will patent it for sure.
Say ABCDEEEEEEEEE…..Simle Please..
When we happen to see friends or acquaintances we think its basic manners to smile or greet them. But there are some people who don’t bother to smile, greet or react ..instead they stare at the people(whom they know already) so crazily as if they are seeing the Halley comet which appears once in 76 years. I don’t say we need to hug, kiss, giggle at every person we see. These sort of things give wrong signals..especially if girls do these things…parents will be in danger. Something in excess is always dangerous. We can atleast exchange a smile . Our bank balance or stocks value will not decrease by with a single smile of ours.
Thanks Bolo Beta….
First things parents teach to their kids when they receive anything is “Dadaji ko Thanks Bolo Beta”, “Aunty ko Thanks Bolo Beta”. Interestingly as people grow big they forget the basic manners of saying “Thankyou”. Some people take persons for granted. They don’t think there is ANY necessity to THANK those people. People in the home too require an occasional “Thankyou”, it makes them feel good. Of course it is not necessary to say thankyou every time and for every act but expressing it also means a LOT. Why should’nt we express our feelings when are capable to do so.
Email Pada kya???
An email is sent so that the person to whom it is sent reads it and replies to it back according to his/her convenience; normally people don’t reply unless until it is a spam or no reply mail or it is from their kaurav sena (I mean enemy gang). However, there are exceptions for this NORMAL behavior. Some people read the emails, understand them, use the content sent in it BUT they DON’T respond. They don’t even bother to acknowledge. Yep..work pressure, study pressure, family pressure can always be understood but we need to remember that busiest persons like Barak Obama, Indira Nooyi, Sonia Gandhi have time for their well wishes…we too can manage to have . Just remember that the person who is sending the email is not a ROBOT , the person sends it as he/she thinks you need to be updated about that stuff in that point of time and it will be a nice gesture if you respond to it.
I might have written this entire post in a funny manner but the thoughts expressed are sincere.
This blog post of mine is very very special to me. I’m honored to post wonderful poem written by my esteemed elderly friend Shri Govind Deshmukh Uncle ji. He is a retired Mechanical Engineer who is an allrounder. We can get nice opinion on anything from this wise and esteemed Uncle ji.
In this post I’m posting his poem “भ्रमर-देव-पुष्प”. This depicts the beauty and inherent purpose of each creation of God . Hope you enjoy this serene poem.
!! भ्रमर-देव-पुष्प !!
कवी, संगीत: गोविंद देशमुख
फूल पाखरू, म्हणा की भ्रमर !
Bee: ( You can call me by any name either as butterfly or a bee)
चंचल मनी मी, क्षण भंगूर !
( I am a fickle minded and I can not rest in one place)
शोषितसे मकरंद, फुलार !
( I suck the nector from all flowers)
सोडी सुजीवा, मन होई भार !! फूल पाखरू..!!
(leaving that generous that soul makes my heart heavy)
मी म्हणते हे, दया पाखुर !
Flower: (I say he! kind bird)
पसरी जगावर, मम शर्कर !
( you are spreading my sweetness and my nector to the whole world)
जीवन झाले, सुखी न पूर !
( I am grateful to you. I feel my life is now fulfilled)
मनी खंत ना, ना हुर हुर !! फूल पाखरू..!!
( I have no regrets of you leaving me)
ऐकुनी बोले, कृपा सागर !
God: ( listeing to this conversation the God said)
अवतरलो मी, भूमी तलावर !
( I have appeared on this earth)
प्रसन्न होउनी, देईन वर !
(seeing your good deeds and I am going to give you boon)
मुक्तीचे दान, तव तत्पर !! फूल पाखरू..!!
( That you will be liberated for your selfless jobs and you will enter my abode)
Flower says, hey bee!! I am grateful to you that you are spreading my sugary nectar to this universe, I feel fulfilled and satisfied that I did my duty and my life charter is done, I have no regrets of you leaving me.
Listeing to this conversation the God says I have appeared on this earth, seeing your good deeds and I am going to give you boon, That you will be liberated for your selfless jobs and you will enter my abode.
Therefore, we need to understand that God has created beings with some purpose. Whoever does that selflessly will be rewarded by that all mighty.
Once again Thankyou Uncle ji for permitting me to post your poem in my blog 🙂
Poems and songs express the emotions and feelings clearly. I came across this wonderful poem called “Past, Present, Future” by Fion Lim. This poem is in simple language and drives the point home straight without any twists and turns 😉
I am posting this poem here for all of you . Do read it and enjoy the beauty of the poem 🙂
Past, Present, Future
by Fion Lim
Don’t get stuck in the past,
Where you linger on and on in familiarity,
And replay old memories over and over again.
Don’t overindulge in the future,
Where you daydream about leading a grand life endlessly,
And imagine the sweetest days you could ever live.
Don’t neglect your present,
Where true life begins to unfold and pass you by silently,
And you wonder about missed opportunities and lost moments.
For lessons, quietly contemplate about your past,
And you might realize life has cleverly placed you in situations,
That demanded you to raise up to the challenges and to grow.
To reduce your anxiety and panic attacks, make plans for your future,
And you might see that your dreams and goals are acting like guiding lights,
Shining the path for you to follow through and learning to overcome your fears.
To avoid the state of merely existing, be aware of your present,
And you might notice that you are part of a grander scheme,
Where the past is long gone and the future has yet to come,
And that your present is the most precious moment you could ever feel.
Your past and your future both lie in your present,
Where your present wields the power to influence and change,
The way you think about your past either with gratitude or with regret,
And shape your future to either a success or a failure.
Live totally in the present,
Enjoying each and every moment,
Where it is all happening,
Where it truly matters.
