Azhagae sugama from Paarthale Paravasam : Nostalgia Triggering Song

I came across this Song called “Azhagae sugama”  from the tamil movie “Paarthale Paravasam” directed by Shri Balachander and music composed by Shri A.R.Rahaman . Lyrics are awesome and so touching. Sung by Mrs.Sadhana Sargam, Shri Srinivas. The mind state of two separated people is beautifully depicted. This is a nostalgia triggering song for such people and others like us can feel that 😉

I googled for the translation of this song and finally got in a site called http://arr-songs-translated.blogspot.com/2007/11/azhagae-sugama-film-paarthale-paravasam.html and hope that author would not mind in me copying those lyrics as they are and posting them here 🙂 . So here are the lyrics with translation

azhagae sugama?
Oh beautiful one, how are u doing?

un kobangal sugama?
Is your anger doing fine?

anbae sugama?
My love, how are u doing?

un thaabangal sugama?
Are your cravings doing fine?

thalaivaa sugama sugama?
My man, how are you doing?

un thanimai sugama sugama?
How is your solitude doing?

veedu vaasal sugama?
How is your home doing?

un veettu thottam sugama?
How is the garden in your home doing?

pookal ellam sugama?
Are all the flowers there doing fine?

un poigai ellam sugama?
Is your pond doing fine?

azhagae unai pirindhaen,
Oh beautiful one, I separated from you

en arugil unnai izhandhaen
I lost you from beside me

veliye azhudhaal vetkam endru
vilakkai anaiththu azhudhaen
Since its a shame to cry in the open, I wept in darkness

anbae unnai veruththen
en arivai naane eriththen
My love, I hated you and in the process burnt my intelligence

uravin perumai pirivil kandu
uyiril paadhi puraindhen(?)

I realized the importance of relationships and understood one halfof my life(??)

pazhaiya maalaiyil pudhiya pookkal dhaan seraadhaa?
Won’t new flowers blend in an old garland?

pazhaiya thaaliyil pudhiya mudichchugal podaadhaa?
Won’t new knots form in an old mangalsutra?

Vaazhkkai Or vattam pol
mudindha idaththil thodangaadha?

Wish life began at the point where it ended, just like a circle.

Hope you people enjoyed hearing this song 🙂

Aam Aadmi ko Aam Nahi Milega!!!

Someyears back, when I was a Lecturer in a college, on the last day of mine in the college, I asked my students about their career plans. All the students were excited to share their vision with all of us and more than this vision sharing aspect it was a good reason for them to have something different from routine Physics lecture 😉 .  As my students were from Science group most of them said ‘Cardioligist’, ‘ Opthamologist’,  ‘Mechanical Engineer’,  ‘Architect’,  ‘Scientist’  etc.

All of us were enjoying this interaction and we continued hearing their ideas , suddenly one girl said ‘MLA’ and entire class became quiet and then after 2 seconds of silence they started laughing. However that girl was quite serious about her ambition of becoming an ‘MLA’. I too was quite shocked and realizing that  Lecturers deserve a better expression 😉 I asked her the reason for chosing such career option. She explained her interest in social service and I asked her why does she need to have a formal career in Politics to do so.  She explained.  Some of the students understood, some of them discussed , some of them did’nt have a clue and wondered what has happened to that dear friend of theirs.    All of us could not stop hearing her ideas as they sounded pretty interesting.  However, we had to end our discussion as I was already getting late for my next lecture in another class.

However, I did not think much about that career episode of my students later as I was busy with my new job.  After somany days I got opportunity to discuss about current affairs and Indian Politics with my friends .  Somehow our discussion took a new twist when were discussing about the role of youth in Indian Politics.  We were quite happy about the young leaders i.,e NextGen leaders. I adore all these leaders as they are there always to voice the opinions of youth in India, which is around 60% of the population.  One of our friends was giving a lecture about these second generation leaders and she gave an analysis and it detailed on how well educated , service minded and energetic they are.  She concluded by saying,  “All the Nextgen leaders are sons/ daughters of well known Netas. It is almost impossible to find Neta who is Aam Aadmi. It is tough for an Aam Aadmi to get into current Indian Politics and even if he gets into it he cannot survive there.  Survival and power is just a fruit of discord for Aam Aadmi . Aam Aadmi Ko Aam(fruit called power) Nahi Milega” . We dispersed to our homes wondering why can’t a common man become a Neta.

Upon introspection, I have the following observations:

  1. To be understood eligibility criteria: Moderate Education, Service Mindedness, leadership qualities, reasonable understanding on the geographical area etc are the eligibility criteria for the leader in an Utopian world. Apart from these criteria Aam Aadmi can qualify to the politics and survive in it only when he is from a well known political family or atleast he is an industrialist . If he does not qualify these criteria, his role is restricted to volunteer for eternity. These qualifications are applicable right from corporator post to the MP post. He cannot imagine getting ticket from his party even before his 75th birthday. However, we don’t have all these criteria written in some book , we need to sense them by common sense.
  2. Party does matter: It is not enough to yell at the top of your voice by saying “We want change..We want change”. It is not possible to survive in a heavily competitive political environment if you are new to politics. You cannot survive or make impact without associating yourself with a well established party.  Sometime back I asked Mr Shashi Tharoor about this in Twitter “@ShashiTharoor Do u think ordinary people can join politics & can really make any difference without the support of well established parties 6:26 PM Aug 15th from web in reply to ShashiTharoor“. He replied back by saying “ShashiTharoor @rayaprolu no, i think you can make the most impact through joining an established party and advancing your beliefs within the system 9:33 PM Aug 15th from web in reply to rayaprolu
  3. Aam Aadmi does not encourage another Aam Aadmi: This might be a strange conclusion but unfortunately this is true. Ordinary people don’t have faith in ordinary contestants. They feel insecure voting for new comers, non branded people. They are not bothered about the educational qualifications, promises of the new comers. Sounds scary but most of the cases, some section of Aam Aadmi does not vote to these new comers as they need to vote for free of cost 😉 . If the contesting new commoner is a female, she might be having another feather in the cap, she has to face character assassination too.

Last but not least, with all these hurdles Aam Aadmi’s desire to serve people through politics is really dying down and may be this might be reason for the people to show negligence in voting. People are not bothered to read party manifesto as parties don’t adhere to it after elections. However,  Service minded youth are trying to associate with some or the other NGO to render their services to the needy people in the society. People never consider Politics as a career option. Even if anyone tries to do so, they are warned by their well wishes not to do that. But still…this service through politics remains a fruit of discord to Aam Aadmi…Aam Aadmi ko Aam Nahi Milega !!!

Peaceful Warrior – Movie All Of Us Can Relate To

Soc and Dan : Image Courtesy Google

Every week I eagerly wait for Saturday nights. I get chance to watch nice movies on TV. I have a habit of bugging my folks by SMSing or mailing them about any classy or feel good movie timings , if I happen to know about their telecast times  in TV, well in advance.  I don’t leave them if they miss them, I ask them to get the DVD asap 😉 .  Interestingly this Saturday My Big B (not the Amitabh Bachchan of Bollywood…but my Big Brother) constantly pestered me to watch this movie called “Peaceful Warrior”. Having faith in the choices of My Big B, I watched it so religiously right from the first scene to the titles at the end. Only after watching the complete movie I really understood why My Big B asked me in specific to watch that movie 😉 .

Peaceful Warrior is a 2006 American film, based on the novel ‘Way of the Peaceful Warrior’ by Dan Milliman. This film is about a talented gymnast Dan(Scott Mechlowicz) who has everything in his life and who feels restless all times. The way he deals with himself and how he makes peace with himself with the help of his spiritual guide Socrates (Nick Nolte) is really interesting. By the way, we will not know the real name of Nick even at the end of film or even will not know who he is or where he disappears later. Dan calls his guide ‘Soc’ a short name for Socrates. We cannot help relating ourselves to the protagonist Dan almost in each and every scene.

Interactions between Dan and Soc are amazing and worth watching multiple times (not that we don’t understand them in a single glance..hehhe). The way Soc tells Dan about the characteristics of a warrior, the aspects of making peace with oneself, ideas about emptying the trash in the mind, about enjoying the beauty of present moment and about the journey of life are really amazing.

Do watch this movie  if you ever get a chance and am sure it helps you in your improvement.  I’m posting some scenes from this movie:

This is the scene where Soc asks Dan to empty the trash in his mind.

This is the scene where Dan understands that it’s the journey not the destination that matters.

This is the final scene of the film, where the importance of living in the present moment is emphasised wonderfully 🙂

Some interesting and memorable points from the movie PEACEFUL WARRIOR :

 1. There are no ordinary moments.

 2. This moment is the only thing that matters.

 3. Wake up! If you knew for certain you had a terminal illness…if you had little time left to live…you would waste precious little of it. Well, I’m telling you…you do have a terminal illness: It’s called birth. You don’t have more than a few years left. No one does! So be happy now, without reason…or you will never be at all.

 4. The first realization of a warrior is not knowing.

 5. Every action has it’s pleasure and it’s price.

 6. You haven’t yet opened your heart fully, to life, to each moment. The peaceful warrior’s way is not about invulnerability, but absolute vulnerability…to the world, to life, and to the Presence you felt. All along I’ve shown you by example that a warrior’s life is not about imagined perfection or victory; it is about love. Love is a warrior’s sword; wherever it cuts, it gives life, not death.

 7. Find the love in what you do.

 8. Everything has a purpose. It’s up to you to find it.

 9. If you don’t get what you want, you suffer; if you get what you don’t want, you suffer; even when you get exactly what you want, you still suffer because you can’t hold on to it forever. Your mind is your predicament. It wants to be free of change. Free of pain, free of the obligations of life and death. But change is law and no amount of pretending will alter that reality.

 10. Some people live their whole lives without ever waking up.

 11. Knowledge is not the same as wisdom.

 12. Moderation? It’s mediocrity, fear and confusion in disguise. It’s the devil’s dilemma. It’s neither doing nor not doing. It’s the wobbling compromise that makes no one happy. Moderation is for the bland, the apologetic, for the fence-sitters of the world afraid to take a stand. It’s for those afraid to laugh or cry, for those afraid to live or die. Moderation…is lukewarm tea, the devil’s own brew.

 13. I call myself a Peaceful Warrior…because the real battles we fight are on the inside.

 14. Find your answers from inside.

 15. Pain is a relatively objective, physical phenomenon; suffering is our psychological resistance to what happens. Events may create physical pain but they do not in themselves create suffering. Resistance creates suffering. Stress happens when your mind resists what is…the only problem in your life is your mind’s resistance to life as it unfolds.

 16. Those who are hardest to love are the ones who need it most.

 17. Throw out everything that is keeping you from this moment.

 18. Where are you? Here. What time is it? Now. What are you? This moment.

 19. There is never nothing going on.

 20. Three principles of reality: Paradox, Humor, and Change.

 21. There is only the journey.

Perfect song for Introspection : Anywhere is by Enya

Hi All,
We do introspect ourselves once in a while. Introspection may make us happy, sad, nostalgic, responsible or may even make us more confused . I like this song of Enya called “Anywhere is..”. Lyrics are too good and perfect to hear in the time of introspection. I’m posting the song and its lyrics for all of you.

Have a nice time hearing it 🙂

I walk the maze of moments
But everywhere I turn to begins a new beginning
But never finds a finish
I walk to the horizon
And there I find another
It all seems so surprising
And then I find that I know

Chorus:
You go there you’re gone forever
I go there I’ll lose my way
If we stay here we’re not together
Anywhere Is

The moon upon the ocean
Is swept around in motion
But without ever knowing
The reason for its flowing
In motion on the ocean
The moon still keeps on moving
The waves still keep on waving
And I still keep on going

Chorus

I wonder if the stars sign
the life that is to be mine
And would they let their light shine
Enough for me to follow
I look up to the heavens
But night has clouded over
No spark of constellation
No Vela no Orion

The shells upon the warm sands
Have taken from their own lands
The echo Of Their Story
But All I hear are low sounds
As pillow words are weaving
And willow waves are leaving
But should I be believing
That I am only dreaming

Chorus

To leave the thread of all time
And let it make a dark line
In hopes That I can Still Find
The way back to the moment
I took the turn and turned to
Begin a new beginning
Still looking for the answer
I cannot find the finish
It’s either this or that way
It’s one way or the other
It should be one direction
It could be on reflection
The turn I have just taken
The turn that I was making
I might be just beginning
I might be near the end

Chetan Bhagat’s lovely Samjoutha With The Art Of Communication

3015373889_a6891858c6

Whoa!!!!! First appreciate me for selecting this title for this blog post of mine ” Chetan Bhagat’s lovely Samjoutha With The Art Of Communication”. I dedicate this space of my blog to my favorite author of this season , Mr Chetan Bhagat ( I’m notorious in switching loyalities in the aspect of favorite authors and favorite film heros 😉 ; by the way did I mention that Ranbir Kapoor is my favorite hero these days).  Coming back to the original topic of this post, I thought of writing some good words for Chetan Bhagat, ofcourse this writeup of mine does’nt fetch him Nobel Prize directly but for my silly heart’s satisfaction I made this bold decision of analyzing CB’s writing style and mentioning good things about it. I’m not going to write about his birth place, education, family , food habits and famous quotes unlike other biographical essays where we are accoustomed to do so.

As I said earlier, I’m a diehard fan of Chetan Bhagat though I have’nt enrolled in any CB’s fanclubs or forums and hope you still beleive my adoration. Jokes apart, I adore CB( by the way CB is Chetan Bhagat) and his literature (I have no other term left to name his collection of books and articles) as he deals SENSIBLE subjects with SENSITIVITY blended with his SUBTLE HUMOUR.  He makes it a point to deliver a strong message in every book or article of his without being PREACHY like a convent Nun. Delivering a strong message without being preachy and reaching wide audience is not at all easy task.

CB does not deal with some boring stuff like the food patterns in mayan civilization or the emerging, alarming diseases among the rats in Euthopia. He deals with the subjects very much related to common people in the society. We can relate to atleast one or the other character in his books , reason being his protogonists are common people like us.  Yep! You may wonder what’s so special with CB when anyother aspiring and intelligent author of  these days does the same job..what’s so special about CB? He too writes about students, their problems, love and marriage….all the normal routine stuff which you find in every other book, every other bollywood, tollywood, kollywood or other wood film. Why is that this CB’s stuff is so irresistable, easily digested and worth multiple reads. Why!! Why!! Why!! (me shouting at the top of my voice..like a female protoganist of  Ekta serial crying aloud while banging the temple bell…)

Made an effort to understand this mystery of CB by applying the management concepts which I’ve been trying to learn these days in my university. Finally tried to understand CB’s successful writing wrt  Aristotle’s modes of persuasion in Rhetorics.  Rhetorics is nothing but the “Art/Subject  of Communication”. Aristotle Dada explained these modes of persuasion in a wonderful manner ETHOS – PATHOS – LOGOS . Let us try to understand CB’s writing style in this Rhetorics angle…

Ethos and CB :

Ethos is an appeal to the authority or honesty of the speaker. It is how well the speaker convinces the audience that he or she is qualified to speak on the particular subject. It can be done in many ways:
>>By being a notable figure in the field in question, such as a college professor or an executive of a company whose business is that of the subject.
>>By having a vested interest in a matter, such as the person being related to the subject in question.
>>By using impressive logos that shows to the audience that the speaker is knowledgeable on the topic.
>>By appealing to a person’s ethics or character.( This description is taken as it is from wikipedia)

CB got his Ethos angle as he is educated in IIT Delhi and IIM A. This is one of the beautiful combinations of study any educated person in India prefers.  The respect given to alumni of these prestigious institutes is huge and readers feel he is credible, clever enough to speak enough about any stuff.

Pathos and CB

Pathos is an appeal to the audience’s emotions. It can be in the form of metaphor, simile, a passionate delivery, or even a simple claim that a matter is unjust. Pathos can be particularly powerful if used well, but most speeches do not solely rely on pathos. Pathos is most effective when the author connects with an underlying value of the reader..( This description is taken as it is from wikipedia)

CB excels wrt to this Pathos angle of persuation. Characters and situations in his books are very much common and we feel them, we can relate to them when we read his books. The similes used by CB are awesome. I don’t mind saying that Chetan Bhagat competes to Mahakavi Kalidasa wrt simlies. To refresh your memory Mahakavi Kalidasa is  well known  for his similies and people even say Upama Kalidasasya… now don’t ask me if people used to eat Upma in those times too..There they were referring to Upama..that is..SIMILIE.. Coming back to the hero of this post CB, he uses the similes so well and they make everyone laugh aloud caring a damn about their age or profession or mood disorders. Regular readers of CB will agree with me 1000% on this aspect and his latest book released on Oct 8th 2009 , 2 states is really having awesome similies. 🙂

Logos and CB

Logos is logical appeal, and the term logic is derived from it. It is normally used to describe facts and figures that support the speaker’s topic. Since data is difficult to manipulate, especially if from a trusted source, logos may sway cynical listeners. Having a logos appeal also enhances ethos (see above) because information makes the speaker look knowledgeable and prepared to his or her audience. ( This description is taken as it is from wikipedia)

CB uses this logos factor to a minimum level and this makes the life of reader easy. He does not flaunt about his IIT/IIM things with tons of attitude which somany of IITians have(not all…but most of them;) ). Don’t know about CB personally but as far I have observed him in his books, articles, twitter and his blog,  he takes good care not to display that attitude(Somehow I feel he does’nt have attitude). He does not use unnecessary mathematics or hifi management terms to reaffirm about his education levels.

Driving the point home, I find that perfect combination of Ethos-Pathos -Logos in his writings makes Chetan Bhagat a good writer more than that most admired writer in these years. He got a lovely chemistry with all these persuasion aspects in his writing. One can make one read any article or book only when that person is persuaded to read. Chetan Bhagat excels in this art of communication. No exaggeration in saying that Chetan Bhagat is the J.K.Rowling of India. He revived the reading habit amogst youngsters even in this fast paced life :).  I wish him very best for his future writings and hope he continues to write good stuff as he has been doing from the past few years. Hope you people have enjoyed reading CB’s lovely Samjoutha with the art of communication through this post.

PS: Hope people are not taking notes about ETHOS- PATHOS – LOGOS …this question is not going to appear in your final examinations 😉

Cheers,

Prasanna Rayaprolu

Yeah!I know right from the beginning!!!

oldman-oldwoman-banjo

Did you ever encounter a situation in your life when people said to you ‘Yeah! I know right from the beginning!!!’ that you will succeed, or ‘Yeah! I know right from the beginning!!!’ that this will not work for you. I’m sure each one of you might have encountered this sort of situations more than once in your life from various people.  Yeah! I know right from the beginning!!! thing is not at all a worrysome issue if people say it in your good times, because you don’t  have the time or you are not bothered to analyze the meaning of that phrase in that moment of your success. However, this ‘Yeah! I know right from the beginning!!!’ is really really sick when people say this to you in your bad times.

I personally feel this ‘Yeah! I know right from the beginning!!!’ types of people in most cases are not the ones to be  taken seriously. They might not be matured enough to assess the things or people (interestingly they think they are good in this analysis paralysis).

Scenario One :

I have an acquaintance who is Chatur Chachi types; She has this ‘Yeah! I know right from the beginning!!!’ sickness. She quickly switches the sides according to the success or failure of that person or an event. What makes me really wonder is if she really knows something right from the beginning then she should not have bugged the people around or atleast she should have lend a helping hand to put the things in order. She has this psycho mentality of waiting for the things to fall apart and then she desperately waits for the right time to say ‘Yeah!I know right from the beginning!!!’. We people joke about her Yeah!I know right from the beginning!!! mentality 🙂

Scenario Two:

In some families, family members especially parents tend to have this ‘Yeah! I know right from the beginning!!!’ attitude to the children in the family. I have a famous Aunt from the coastal side of Andhra who was a poor listener and who was always bothered in pampering her elder son, a super scientist,  good at everything in the planet.  What amazed us folks was that cousin of mine was a normal fellow till recent times. All of a sudden just as Prince Sid became Gautama Buddha, this cousin of mine too got admission in a good university and his wisdom &  knowledge grew competing with  the rate of the gold prices in the world 😉 .  However we thanked stars and God for his success and prayed for his well being. What bothered us until recently was the ‘Yeah! I know right from the beginning!!!’ attitude of our Aunt, for every topic or for every issue of discussion she used to say Yeah! I know right from the beginning!!! that my elder son was like this..like that..he gets this..he would get that…good good…we can really appreciate that mother for her wonderful upbringing and her motherhood.

Wait!!! My Aunt’s story does’nt end here…picture baaki hai mere dosth….My Aunt has another son who was a xerox copy of  Darsheel Safari  from the famous Taare Zameen Film in terms of attitude.  This fellow was not inclined to normal and conventional type of academics, he was a fivepoint some one in his Engineering college ; Mother Earth too liked the things this fellow held on, everytime he held something…he used to drop it atleast once..don’t blame him..blame the Mother Earth and her Gravity power. He never did  anything in this world as instructed , poor fellow all the Maslow’s laws applied to this fellow whenever he did any work. By the way do you people know this version of Maslow’s law: If something is wrong, everything goes wrong. Having this famous and notorious sons my Aunt had several crazy times in her life.  What bothered us was everytime this Darsheel Xerox did something seriously and tried to mend his ways, Aunt just used to say Yeah! I know right from the beginning!!! that you are a dufford , you will not succeed as you were a failure earlier and  you will never mend your ways.  Poor xeroxed Darsheel often used to feel sad that loved ones didn’t understand his efforts and felt more sad for assesing him based on his past track record. As an observer from other frame of reference I often used to wonder “If this Aunt knows right from the beginning, why don’t she help the xeroxed Darsheel get over his problematic areas” 😦 😦 😦 , instead of making a mess about the dumbness of this fellow and comparing him to the elder son”. Interestingly, xeroxed Darsheel started a firm of his own with his like minded friends and today he is owning a firm, he earns big fat money and has a creative career.  His mother did’nt change but she started singing the same song with a different tune by saying ‘Yeah I know right from the beginning!!!’ that this second kiddo of mine will be highly successful as he is unconventional and unique :). However this Xeroxed Darsheel cares a damn about the compliments of her mother these days as they don’t affect him.

Scenario Three:

Sometimes we find interesting folks who don’t have atleast small piece of appreciation left for their people in their hardtimes and who shower praises in their good times. I have this close friend of mine who  was waiting for a real ‘break’ in her life. She missed admission into her favorite course because of her not so great marks in the entrance exam.  Then  her Dad blamed her by saying “Yeah!I know right from the beginning!!! You are not capable of getting the admission as you are not hardworking and brainy like your brother.  Her mother pestered her by saying Yeah!I know right from the beginning!!! that you will not get the admission for sure because you are full of attitude and you always think that you are intelligent than other folks.  Later on this girl studied some other course which she never dreamt even in her wild dreams during her childhood. Some how she drew new career paths and managed to get a job but with a below normal standards pay( not the branded corporate 5 digit wallah starting pay) very quickly as soon as she finished her studies.  She hoped to get some appreciation from her parents atleast in this point of time of her life but interestingly she got haunted by the Yeah!I know right from the beginning!!! mania even then. Her mother used to bug her by saying  our maid earns more than you and Yeah!I know right from the beginning!!! that you will not earn more than this unlike your school buddies who are well placed in MNC’s.  My friend grew up and just as an other girl waits for her partner she too waited for her life partner. Her parents searched alliances for her. They used to bug her constantly to improve her beauty quotient asap and as much as possible. They used to complain about her dark complextion and even then they haunted her by saying Yeah!I know right from the beginning!!! that you will not get the right guy in right time because you are not humble, susheel, shant, smart unlike your cousins . But!!!! Times don’t remain the same manner for everyone in everytime people do get a break and they get their deserved piece of success. My friend got a job in the world’ s most famous company and within a month she got an alliance from a good guy. She got married and now she is happy with a decent position in world’s top company, with a good husband. Then her parents began saying Yeah!We know right from the beginning!!! that our daughter is different, she is creative, capable and confident. Only few of us know about the real state of my friend all through these years. She was capable but sometimes because of negligence, sometimes because of her bad luck she did’nt get the real break she really wanted in her life. We really knew that she will make something really worthy and great in her life. We too appreciated her by saying Yeah! we know right from the beginning!!! that you are capable sweety!!;)

I just gave these  examples to illustrate interesting human behavior. You too might have faced these type of situations in your life.  Some speak with a 180 degree variation on the basis of your success or failure . They really don’t care about the REAL YOU and the real worthiness of YOU in your hardtimes. Life is like that, we cannot and should not escape from these type of people. One  progresses in life according to the experiences, situations, age and opportunites in life. One need to develop the attitude of UNPERTURBEDNESS to the unhealthy criticisim and unhealthy praises. One should never lose FAITH and BELIEF in oneself immaterial of the situations in life.  One should understand that  every living and non living thing in this universe is WORTHY and we cannot  understand its beauty and worthiness unless and until we make an effort to understand it.

I wish to conclude this lengthy post with a poem constantly cited by my Micro Economics Professor at my University,

gen-amantramaksharam-naasti

Which means, there is no sound that is not a mantra, no plant that is not medicinal |
there is no person unworthy, what is lacking is an ‘enabler’ ||

(Poem Courtesy: http://practicalsanskrit.blogspot.com/search/label/worthiness)

Hope you people think for a sec, the next time when you use the phrase “Yeah! I know right from the beginning!!!” and try to appreciate people in their bad times rather showering praises in their good times. Small words of appreciation do matter a lot when there is a famine of appreciation in a person’s life 🙂

Happy Children’s Day. Keep the Childishness in you alive and thats what makes your life beautiful 🙂

Oh!! Reality Shows….Yeah They Are Real!!!

123

Like any other day I switched on my TV after a day long work accompanied by the crazy traffic jam on the way back to home. I was lazily browsing the channels and to my horror I found a 5 year old girl dancing to the item song from the film POKIRI in a Telugu channel.  That girl enacted sexy expressions and what irritated me more was the encouragement given by the bunch of fools who were present to judge that show. An old aged judge of that show was watching the sexy steps of that 5 year old kid “blissfully” as if he was watching the “Viswaroopam of Lord Krishna”.  Parents of that kid were smiling with “modesty” for producing such a child prodigy. I really felt like jumping into my TV screen and felt like hitting the parents of that 5 year old for letting their daughter do such adult dance in such age. Those parents don’t have any right to exploit her childhood in such a manner where she is supposed to read her poems and fairy tales.

My blood pressure was soaring high seeing the reaction of all the nautanki people there. To control my blood pressure, I switched to another channel and in that they were showing mess about the intimate moments of some so called celebrity couple. I was wondering who the hell were that “worried couple”, worried about the  so called celebrity couple’s intimacy. After few seconds I came to know that this “worried couple” left their 5 year kid with these people as a part of the reality show. This celebrity couple were supposed to behave as responsible mummy and daddy before that 5 year kid of theirs. So original parents of that 5 year kid i.,e  this “worried couple” were banging these celebrity couple for not controlling their emotions before child and they gave bhashan about controlling the harmones and all….

Wondering what this program was all about…I switched to another channel …to my agony that channel was also having some reality show in it. In that,  two well known woman of film industry, who are the participants of that reality show, are pulling the boxers of another participant, who is well known person of TV industry. I could’nt make head or tail of the acts of those ladies. Mean while there was a commercial break and even in that a handsome gentleman who is a well known neta’s son was asking Kya aap mujhse shaadi karengi” and then to participate in this show dail blah blah…. to the number eta zeta etc…By this time I got vexed of TV and I got back to my library only to read “3 Mistakes of My life” by Chetan Bhagat.
